Week in Review

I’m glad it’s Friday! It’s been a busy week full of errands, places to be and things to do.

Daphne didn’t sleep very well on Thursday night and I had a ton of meetings at work yesterday. Combine those things with planning her small party on Saturday, and this girl is pretty worn out.

As I do every Friday morning, I wanted to share a few of my favorite things from this week.

A quick photo shoot at Soergel Orchards in Wexford, PA.

Halloween Costume

I’ve finally decided what I want to be for Halloween: a Day of the Dead skeleton. I remember learning about Dia De Los Muertos in Spanish class in high school, and I always thought it was a really cool celebration.

I’m planning to wear a black dress, the signature white face paint and a crown of flowers. Shouldn’t be too difficult to pull off.

Gal Meets Glam Coat Collection

I simply adore Julia Engel’s clothing line, Gal Meets Glam, so I was really excited to see that she’s just released a line of coats – just in time for the holiday season.

Guys, her coats are downright beautiful. The colors, the details, the cuts of the fabric – I cannot wait to order one.

Quote of the Week

I keep a list of quotes in my head for the days when life gets tough. I felt very challenged this week: making time for myself, parenting and holding down a full-time job can be difficult some days.

One quote I particularly like is from John Heywood, an English playwright. He said: “Rome wasn’t built in a day, but they were laying bricks every hour.”

Please keep this in mind if you feel like your goals are far away today. You can’t do everything today, but you can continue to work toward your dreams bit by bit.

That’s all I have for now! I have a busy evening coming up later: I need to bake Daphne’s cake, put up the decorations and tidy up the house. Even though the party is small, there is still so much to do. Have a happy Friday!
